Age is no barrier to learning!
For Australia’s oldest PhD graduate Dr David Bottomley, learning is a life-long journey.
At 94 years of age, he graduated from his PhD in education.
“I’m already looking at more ways to apply and improve my basic skills, and hopefully help stir the creative pot,” Dr Bottomley said.
Inspire students to love learning
Curtin welcomed popular Australian maths teacher Eddie Woo to host professional development opportunities for Western Australian teachers and inspire a generation of students studying education.
"I love working at school. I love adding value. What I do can make a big difference, to have a really good, on the ground understanding of the students, not just face-to-face but being part of the school."
Provide meaningful experiences
"The TESOL course enabled me to learn about things I was passionate about, including working with children and developing my knowledge of the English language... I was able to apply [my knowledge from the course] practically in classrooms to further my skillset, and I now have the qualifications to apply for jobs in a whole range of professions.”
