Why study communications and media?
Build industry connections
“When there are so many graduates competing for a position, the easiest way to stand above the rest is to have already done some work within the industry.”
Write your own future
“I started with creative writing and I found myself writing more often than not about the real world and things that had happened instead of creating my own genre fiction.”
Execute creative ideas
“The biggest highlight of my time with MAC was covering New York and Paris Fashion Weeks. I was able to work closely with designers, makeup artists and models to create unique, branded content for our global social channels, which was an incredible experience.”
Meet our Alumni Innovator | Bec Bignell
Curtin graduate, Bec, always had a passion for storytelling. Realising the power of the audience, she's empowering regional Australians to tell their stories on local and international platforms to encourage a shared sense of humanity.
Her communications and media degrees fostered a perpetual curiosity and encouraged her to think outside the box and keep asking questions.

Haven't found the course you're after?
We have over 30 humanities undergraduate courses, so you can find the one that’s right for you. When you study a humanities course at Curtin, you’ll learn the skills you need to transform your ideas into actions and gain transferable skills in communication, critical thinking, digital knowledge and problem solving that you can apply to a range of workplaces.
Our double degrees
Studying for two degrees at once means you’ll graduate with double the qualifications, but it won’t take you double the time.
Increase your skills and knowledge across two different learning areas with a double degree to give you more career opportunities and choices. You’ll study units from both courses, but the condensed program structure means it may take only a year longer than a single degree.
